JLL steps into the role previously held by Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, which, in a previous incarnation, had taken on the job in 2003, according to news reports at the time. JLL?s duties will encompass a comprehensive list of leasing services for the Class A property. A 20-story tower, 52 Vanderbilt boasts a direct underground connection to Grand Central Terminal and a history that dates back to 1916. The building also features approximately 6,900 square feet of ground level retail space that will not fall under JLL?s domain.
The 52 Vanderbilt deal is not the first interaction between JLL and Brause. ?Over the past few years, we have developed a terrific relationship with Brause Realty,? said Lloyd Desatnick, senior vice president with JLL. ?They were already familiar with Jones Lang LaSalle?s professionalism and commitment to achieving the best results for our clients.?
Yielding assignment after assignment, September has been a busy month for JLL and there is still a week to go before it ends. This month?s deals include a contract to spearhead the leasing and management of the 253,000-square-foot Beaumont Business Center office park in Tampa, Fla., and an agreement to serve as the exclusive real estate provider for Children?s Medical Center in Washington, D.C.? The firm also landed the leasing and management contract for the 480,000-square-foot Hawaii Kai Towne Center in Honolulu. And in perhaps its biggest award of the month, JLL emerged victorious in a competitive bid to provide a range of strategic real estate services to Education Management Corp. for its corporate real estate portfolio spanning more than 109 locations across the country.
